@mhhf1ve Interesting idea - automation to get rid of 0 days.
Not a bad idea. It would probably be effective for a while until malicious actors come up with something to combat it.

I think they might be able to eliminate a lot of 0days -- if automation can prevent them when software is being developed. But I think there will always be some "social engineering" way to get malware onto computers.... humans are only human, after all.
Re: Digicel 100K
Based on the feature I saw on CRN, I understand that's what McAfee and Symantec are trying to do stay one step ahead of the Hackers--let's see if they're able to pull it off--if auotmation for recruiting is any indication, they'll be able to do it.

Fiber in places where infrastructure isn't complicated yet...
It's interesting to see how fast fiber can be deployed in places where regulations and barriers to entry haven't been made overly-complicated (yet). If there are no rights-of-way disputes or building access permissions to slow things down, it looks like fiber can be rolled out pretty rapidly.
Too bad this isn't the case in most US cities. :(

I don't think it's possible to do with just humans vs humans. We'll need to develop AI that can track down anomalous software and help to identify bugs and zero day exploits BEFORE they can be exploited. Hopefully, anti-malware software will be able to work faster than the bad guys trying to create malware....
(And hopefully, the bad guys don't create the software that helps identify bugs/0days first...)

Approach is key, no doubt, @batye--however the need to be realistic in all aspects is also just as important--although the need to believe in the art of the possible is paramount. It is at the heart of transformation--what we focus on here on constant and consistent basis.

Education in the abstract is a noble goal--but does this mean for an average individual to invest in certifications? how do you envision us, ultimately, to stay ahead of the hackers that seem to have nothing better to do?
