The part about networks are getting smarter and better is interesting to me as it relates to 5 gigabyte data for mobile phones etc.

Re: Network predictions
@clrmoney, as I understand it, 5G will entirely redefine telecom as well - which will expand uses and value for networking.  It is becoming a "virtual" redesign.  Exciting times!

Re: Network predictions
I thought it was interesting that he wrote that SDN and NFV's days are numbered as standalone concepts. Especially since NFV has seemed to have stalled a bit.

Re: Network predictions
@Mike, that truly is an interesting prediction.  I believe it is true in that, as AT&T has done, what works is a platform that scales and deploys the technology that is needed and delivers better networking capabilities precisely.  That may be part of the magic of the platform, Indigo, and others in how they are better able to provide solutions that fit a growing demand with the new technology designs and new disruptions, like 5G.

Re: Network predictions
Very excited about a more consumerized future, that's for sure.

There are still many organizations out there that don't cater to consumers properly. It's a huge opportunity to use technology to make customer experiences better - and those who don't are going to lose out!

Re: Network predictions
@dcawrey, I am with you on that!  I think there is great opportunity to use technology to enhance networking and service delivery.  Those who do will capture a large part of a growing market.

@DHagar Don't grow  your share of the pie. Just make the pie bigger.

I think with these changes in networking that is what we are going to start seeing. There will be tremendous growth in this space.

@dcawrey, I like that vision!  That is absolutely true and I believe will outperform both short-term and long-term.

Re: Network predictions
@DHagar It seems many in technology are a bit short sighted when it comes to vision. Innovation is an ever-growing industry. It's not going anywhere.

I think I lifted that saying from some really smart guy like Steve Jobs or something.
