This is why open source is so important these days. It offers a flexibility closed systems simply cannot compete with. And that gap is only going to get wider. But that is difficult for some to recognize that they are losing when they ony focus on protecting their proprietary software. They think they are gaining, but are increasingly losing. And that is one of the reasons for growing importance for open source platform. But there still seems to beclear gap in that area and can surely be worked out by compaies in that area.
