Re: Brexit
The arguments between the political scientists and economists about the effects fo the Brexit come down to just this kind of thing. Paramount (and the other six defendants) have to please the EU, one of the very biggest economies on Earth, to get to play. English clout has largely come from being part of that huge economy. If they go out on their own, they do it as a much smaller, less valuable market, so they may have less power; but they also go out as the non-closed caption, culturally-close market (for American production companies) so they may also have better leverage. It makes a lot of sense for Denmark or Portugal to stay under the EU umbrella -- better to be the small kid in the big gang -- but it's not clear which way the changes will break for England, yet. (I say England because right at the moment it's dubious that there will be a UK for much longer).

Re: Brexit
I'm not familiar with international law, but wonder if since these laws are focused on the providers (not the countries) to allow them to continue doing business in the EU, they're probably still enforceable and likely set a precendent for other similar licensing through out the EU?

Brexit
I have to wonder why the European Commission is even doing this. It makes me think it might just be to spite the UK while they still can. Though what the end game of that would be is beyond me. Since at some point in the near future the UK won't even have to worry about EU rules.

Paramount Blocking
I'm not sure that they should be blocking Paramount in their continous growth even though they are investigating other companies lets see in the end how this all plays out.
