Are competitors offering similar?
I could see that as being something consumers might "fall for" as something that they'll benefit from, and roku not wanting to lose those customers to the competition.

While you make a great point, I would argue that a piece of tech like this that is cheaper than others may be a great catalyst for a household to get some kind of 4k tech into their home, therefore spurring their interest in collecting more 4K products.

I have to agree with some skepticism that streaming devices for ultra-high bandwidth services is the place to start. Who has a Gbps service? Not too many households (yet!?)...
And when will real broadband come to the mainstream?
