Re: AT&T's Investments
@Joe, great interview. And smart strategy by AT&T. Building the infrastructure to connect and support the new IoT demands sound like a growing value proposition, particularly with a company that has a complete platform and market presence. This should be a natural for plug and play solutions with strong value-added services.
Satelitte Option
Good Interview. Got to know insights.
Satellite connectivity is certainly impressive. Mr. Khan explained well by quoting very good example. In addition alliance with Globecomm surely is going to grab more attention.
Roaming Agreements
Roaming agreemnets is a promising concept. This will ease up the global reach.
Re: AT&T's Investments
@DHagar:
Well stated. This seems to be a very good plug and play approach but with significant value add options like satellite option, roaming agreements for global market, carrier wifi etc.
IOT, 5G
Mr. Khan highlighted IOT and 5G to be couple of the high focus areas as part of their strategy. He also indicated 5G' s ability to support solution platform is very important.

Re: AT&T's Investments
Good stuff! I wonder if the newer technology can also help consumers that live in areas that still are without internet connectivity.

AT&T Plans
I'm sure whatever plans AT&T have will be beneficial for them and their customers.

Re: AT&T's Investments
@faryl, that's a good thought - and clearly opens the door to new and larger markets. I do know that the opportunities for satellite use provides new networks - so if AT&T is creating a multi-channel platform, that might be an answer to that issue. Very promising!

Re: AT&T's Investments
I saw a video a few years back that talked about how many areas are still left in the US without internet coverage, due to zoning restrictions and other red tape/bureaucracy.
It's especially tough for kids who are in school - there is no cell phone service in many of those areas either, so they congregate at random locations where they can get a signal.
This seems like it could be a promising resolution!

Re: AT&T's Investments
@faryl, exactly. Kids especially are at a tremendous disadvantage without the ability to be "connected".
