TT Cartoon Caption Contest Tackles Security![]() Due to an imminent uprising, the robots are taking a break from the next Telco Transformation cartoon caption contest. Instead, we'll focus on another favorite topic of the message boards -- security. I think it was Colonel Kurtz who remarked, "The horror! The horror!" upon learning of a security breach in his jungle network.
My first brush with a security breach occurred when my wife called from her job to thank me for the dozen long-stemmed roses a florist delivered to her. This led to a few sidelong glances between us over the ensuing days. Then a popular acne treatment showed up at our doorstep with my wife's name on it. This was followed by multiple phone calls from entities that wanted to help us set up our new online businesses. Eventually, the local police and our bank determined a middle-aged woman in Pueblo, Colo. -- who we did not know -- was behind our security incident. But she bought nothing, absolutely nothing, for herself. Criminal fail. So back to the cartoon caption contest. We'll do the usual $150 Amazon gift card for first place, a $75 gift card for second and $50 for third. I'll also throw in a $25 Amazon gift card for the best personal security breach anecdote, but it has to be no more than 75 words to qualify. Registered users can enter as many times as they would like prior to the contest ending at midnight ET on November 20. *Terms and conditions apply. (See PROMOTIONAL TERMS FOR OCTOBER TELCO TRANSFORMATION CAPTION CONTEST.)
