Re: VR and OTT
@Batye:  It seems, though, that some of the vendors take us ordinary folks for granted in their quest for the "holy grail".  The challenge for us is to make sure we stay as vigilant and engaging as possible.

@batye:  No need to be speechless and hopeless--one has to be able to learn and adapt--that's at the heart of positive transformation--an implicit message of what we're trying to do here with our on-going deliberations.

@Bayte:   In your view, would AI be the game changer to help overcome what you perceive to be the bad customer service?    I am also curious to see what others think about this as well?

@batye:  You ended at "but..."--You left us all hanging.  I hope you are able to expand on it--glad to see you are a fan of Nintendo.

That sounds like a hard problem! But maybe machine learning algorithms can reduce wait times and get customer service reps to come up with solutions faster? Actually, I think AI might be better suited for "self serve" customer service. Basically, more interactive FAQs and ways to help customers help themselves...

Thanks @mhhf1ve for your thoughts--but folks like AT&T seem to disagree as we 're increasingly seeing automation at the heart of it all--wouldn't you agree?

Re: VR and OTT
Automation is definitely a trend... and it's aiming to start another industrial revolution. It may be a rough start, though, at first. When steam engines replaced all the horses and other labor animals, people didn't really seem to care that much about the well being of the animals, but now that *people* are being replaced by software... are we going to do anything about all the career re-training?

Sure, there are optimists who believe that AI automation is going to open up the economy for more leisure and better lifestyles.. but the path to Utopia from where we are now doesn't look obvious.
