BARCELONA -- For the first time in the event's history, Mobile World Congress topped 100,000 attendees. Visitors from 204 countries were on hand for last week's MWC in Barcelona, Spain along with 2,200 exhibitors.
Despite a subway strike, attendees flocked to the Fira Gran Via and Fira Montjuďc venues in Barcelona to see the latest cutting-edge products and services, as well as various high-tech demos. MWC was so en feugo that Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg dropped by. (See Facebook TIPs Telcos Towards Open Source Networks.)
