TT Launches Video Industry Advisory BoardTelco Transformation is launching a new big video community, as well as a Video Industry Advisory Board aimed at helping the industry overcome the challenges of providing high-quality video services to consumers and businesses. Announced by Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. and Light Reading at this morning's TV Connect conference in London, the Video Industry Advisory Board has already attracted interest from some of the biggest players in the world's fast-evolving TV business. A dedicated big video channel on the Telco Transformation website will feature content about the chief issues facing the industry, including interviews with senior executives from all parts of the value chain. "Nobody here needs to be told why there is a need to focus on this," said Ray Le Maistre, Light Reading's editor-in-chief, during a keynote presentation at TV Connect earlier today. "There is a lot of work to be done by the entire ecosystem, from producers to device makers, to be able to deliver video with high quality of service. We're reaching out to get real experts to share their insights and experience and be a part of this community."
Le Maistre said the Video Industry Advisory Board would comprise senior executives and thought leaders in the industry. "We're looking for decision makers who can help the rest of the industry to move ahead," he explained. Founding members of the new Advisory Board include Stephen Saunders, the founder and CEO of Light Reading, and Ken Wang, the president of Huawei's carrier network business. — Iain Morris, , News Editor, Light Reading, Editor-in-Chief, Telco Transformation |
