Re: AT&T Breaks 5G
@Shaunn - It's interesting how the perception of customer service can really stay with a person. I don't even truly know the full story. Actually, I don't even truly know most of the story. I do remember, when I was in high school, my Mom had an epic battle with AT&T. She was on the phone with them for hours, multiple nights in a row after school. There was yelling. There were threats of us leaving the company forever. And eventually she did. And to this day, she still hates AT&T. And I also maintain a strong dislike for them, in as much as I would literally never consider getting their service. I could tell you why I hold most of my opinions, a good number of those with fairly strong conviction. I don't really know why I don't like AT&T. But whatever their customer service was about 18 years ago, it was so terrible, that no one in my family has AT&T to this day.

Re: AT&T Breaks 5G
@afwriter  I've been with AT&T a long time. I think its charges are competitive with most everyone else's. I don't think I would ever consider Verizon.

5G Awakening
Initially telco companies believed they could implement 5G without assistance. Now it has been realized that 5G cannot be implemented without developing strategic partnerships with other telco and technology companies.

5G Trials
I am super excited to see my city on the list of 5G trials for 2019. It seems Verizon will beat AT&T and other telco companies by deploying 5G first in selected cities in late 2018.

AT&T 5G Barriers
Is is possible to achieve fixed wireless 5G ranges longer that 150 meters which is a very short distange. Also, will 5G work as well in remote and rural areas as it does in more highly populated areas and major cities.

5G Speeds
Being able to achieve wireless speeds of 1.2 Gbps in a 400 MHz channel is a huge success. Kudos to AT&T for this accomplishment. I am waiting for high speeds that can be achieved 5 miles from a specific location. Conducting a test based based on various conditions such as high user usage, weather conditions, technical issues, power outages, foliage, underground and specific building materials for distances of 5 miles or more would be remarkable.

AT&T 5G
AT&T has truly proved to be a leader in the technology industry. The company can no longer be viewed as just a phone company. It is an innovative company and a major player in the tech world. I am glad that AT&T is forging ahead with 5G trials. I can't wait for 5G. I need more speed now!

Re: AT&T Breaks 5G
All you guys make AT&T sound like a really great company. Other than that I don't know much about their quality of service, but based on that it seems like AT&T will come in strong with 5G. The service to the customer is most important and it looks like they know it well.

I wonder if it will be left standing after the bruising merger battle it has begun with the Justice Department.    It will be distracting from the fun transformation battles no doubt.

Re: AT&T Breaks 5G
@afwrtier I agree. I'm so much happier with the level of service I get with AT&T than what I experienced with TMobile. There's no way I'd ever go back to TMobile -- even if they'd offer me the service completely free. The lack of customer service and downright mishandling of customer needs is not worth it!
