Will 5G?
5G has mostlly been presented as a question for a while now. Right now, I think it's best not to question it much if it hasn't done much so far. A better question may still be 'when will 5G do anything?' Potential is only potential; it needs more than that for application.

Re: 5G Replacing Home Services
Is it cost effective enough, though?  And how can it be sustainble?  that's the key question I continue to have....

Re: 5G Replacing Home Services
@mhhf1ve - We just bought a new house, and the entire neighborhood is wired for fiber optics. We have 1 Gig speeds, with no data caps. I have zero interest in any kind of internet that would come with a data cap. Though I would imagine it could be the telcos way of getting a lot of us back for cutting the cord. They can't do anything about our decision to get rid of cable for streaming. But they can limit the amount of internet we can use and jack up the price. Make us all wish we still had cable.

Re: 5G Replacing Home Services
I think there's a lot in this country that isn't sustainable. But I'm not convinced that businesses in general are concrened with long term sustainability when short term massive profits are presented.

Re: 5G Replacing Home Services
@mpouraryan, well said.  But the desire is there and I believe the majority understand the benefits waiting for keeping pace with the new demands in telecom.  I think that is one of the new frontiers!

Re: 5G Replacing Home Services
@mpouraryan, it will depend on the design, the packaging, and the pricing, I believe.

I think the answer will come in more strategic deployment, in alignment with demand, with more options that will finetune the offerings.  If the right mix is found, that should be sustainable.  Plus the size of the markets and the new options to serve them will factor in.

Great opportunities, though!

Re: 5G Replacing Home Services
As the focus of this community we've deliberated has been "transformation", we have to be the agents of change to leverage technology in the right way for this--when, for instance, I read about enzymes being developed that would eat up plastic (beyond the scope of our discussion in an abstract way) it seems to me that we have it within our power to make it possible.
