Re: Vodafone Leading
@afwriter I think if there's enough progress in "NFC", changing the name won't matter as long as it keeps progressing. For something like this, changing the name would be more like stalling when you're not sure what to do next.

Re: Vodafone Leading
@afwriter, I agree.  It reflects the continuing evolution with technology development; the movement from the capabilities of the technology to the deployment and use/value of the technology.  Therefore, the terms do have different meanings.

I would imagine that NFV, although well understood in tech world, could be viewed as a "technology" solution in networking alone and could "limit" the potential users that would be interested in the expanding capabilities.  Whether we come up with a new term, or simply NFV 2.0?  But to reflect the developments taking place may have value.

NFV Holds Industry Back
I think that NFV/Network Function Virtualization has been here for a few years or more and it has been of value or use to many companies but if it is no longer needed then they should let go of it and move on to something different and better.

Vodafone Leading
I'm interested in the rest of this interview. It is evident that Vodafone is leading the charge in multiple areas, including cloudification. Are we about to get a new buzzword in "NFC"? And does changing the name really matter when it comes to progress?
