Re: Huawei 5G Vision
There is apparently a name for this combination of robotics, cloud computing, and 5G: “The Robotics Renaissance” - a term coined by Swedish infrastructure vendor Ericsson.

Re: Huawei 5G Vision
@vneman that fits perfectly with what Ron Marquardt, Vice President of Technology, Sprintwrote here  last December:

We will see that 5G will really drive a whole new set of use cases beyond the smartphone that have not been possible before. For example, in the case of cloud robotics the intelligence of the robot is located in the cloud, while the body of the robot carrying the mechanical functionality can be somewhere else. They would be linked together by 5G-based wireless connectivity.

Re: Huawei 5G Vision
I recently started doing some work for a Robotics Automation Software company and am learning that the implementation of 5G is critical to facilitate interaction and interoperability of humans and robots especially in factories and warehouses: “The fifth generation of wireless technology will pave the way for a new generation of robots, some free to roam controlled via wireless rather than wired communications links and exploiting the vast computing and data storage resources of the cloud. Armed with these capabilities, robots can be precisely controlled dynamically in near real time, and be connected to people and machines locally and globally. In short, 5G will fully enable applications such as the "factory of the future" and many, many others that were previously beyond the capabilities of both cellular and robotics technologies.” Source: Mouser.com

Huawei 5G Vision
A few companies and countries are hip to 5G because of what they have to offer like more data of course and usage in the virtual world so with Huawei getting their ideas will make it more interesting.
