Re: Watson!
Given that Russia has announced essentially "nuclear-powered drones" that can fly indefinitely anywhere on the globe... Drones are going to be incredible, and perhaps more important than regular LEO "satellites" that need rockets and fuel.

Solar powered drones that can fly indefinitely will probably be a bit more environmentally friendly... and those Russian nuke-drones are definitely not supposed to be friendly to anyone/anything.

Drones creating a mesh network covering the globe in wireless broadband would be pretty exciting too!

Re: Watson!
@mhhf1ve I find there's just something about involving space launches that makes things more exciting -- even if they don't immediately translate into better communication systems.

Re: Vodafone on 5G

@elizabethV I didn't realize there is still a lag issue. With all the international business communication that has to take place, you'd think it would have been fixed by now!

Re: 5G Test
I have never talked about mobile service specs with friends. I really only talk about this stuff with you all here. Regular folks only know the service name.

Re: 5G Test
@afwriter - I agree, that is very important to note. But the average layperson won't even think about that kind of thing. The idea will be that AT&T, or whatever company, is leading the way in making 5G available, and it will without a doubt at least draw some customers over. People who are drawn more to hype than anything else.
