Re: Survey results
@afwriter, well stated.  That gives it credibility and is a better indicator of the reality of what IT professionals are buying, managing, etc.  This takes it beyond theory and aspirational statements to what is needed to building the capabilities companies need.

Re: Survey results
I agree that this survey is interesting. What I like about it is that it goes straight to the source of IT professionals and not company spokespeople or C-Level employees. It is good to see and hear what is actually happening at the ground level.

Re: Survey results
@Mike, Interesting survey.  It confirms the "bundled" networked capabilities that are desired through networked services and platforms that can deliver more value (i.e., security, QoS, reliability).

It would be interesting to see if this "networks as services" model holds true across the board.  It may just indicate a prominant trend that will support NFV-SDN, networks, etc.?

Security QoS Reliability
I think that all of these things are necessary like security because we can never have enough dealing with hackers online. The QOS/Quality of Service is very important because you want and need your customers to be satisfied with your product or service.
