Re: Moving to 5G
WHat you have underscored is also the order of the day as I helped edit a notation for the Daily Outsider about potentially Fox & Disney merging together--and as Media has been a focus of ours' here, it will be interesting to see how that dynamics works' itself out as Disney is planning out a Streaming service of its' own to compete with Netflix....

Truly challenging times....

Re: Moving to 5G
@mpouraryan, very correct.  However, I am not a Jeff Bezos fan in that I see his model as being more self-serving; as successful as it is!  But you are absolutely correct that some of these mergers result in a disequilibrium that displaces other credible, and valuable, market players.

Re: Moving to 5G
@mhhf1ve, very true.  I fully expect that 5G will provide that new transformative platform that will change the dynamics and applications with wireless.

You are correct that it will evolve, but I think the innovations in the new 5G spectrum will be disruptive change enough to provide Phase 1 for new applications to align.  Without questions versions 5.1-5.5+ will drive this further, but I believe the innovators with the first 5G will have invested enough that they will utilize a core set of standards and/or at least build bridges for the new ones, don't you think?

Re: Moving to 5G
Such a prospect should scare anyone becuase the lack of choice and engagement will stiffle creativity and transformation.  ALthough I am a @JeffBezos Fan, the question is how much is enough.   I was thinking about it especially as I understand the CVS-Aetna merger is a defensive move of sorts to thwart a rumoured Amazon move into the healthcare field.

@mpouraryan, good point!  Absolutely true, if they leave a vacuum, Amazon will likely fill it with their design and unique capabilities.

Re: Moving to 5G
A mix of licensed and unlicensed spectrum will be a fascinating development-- that may disrupt how wireless broadband is handled. If devices fully adapt to this new kind of network, we may see some truly revolutionary innovations. But since the 5G network standards haven't been settled completely, we may have to want till 5.5G before the real advances kick in.

Come on with 5G
Of course 5G will be great for everyone meaning more data like when it comes to using your phone tablets laptops etc. It will also be a plus for business that provide the service of more 5G data whcih will mean more revenue and to advertise marketing strategies to the customers to get them insterested in buying your product or service.

Re: Moving to 5G
@mpouraryan well, not necessarily paranoid, but perhaps they should be proactive about maintaining the stakes they have.
