Nice!
Kudos for a great survey question. I ultimately went with IoT, but I think a strong argument could be made for at least four of these choices.

Re: Nice!
@afwriter - I agree, there a a few strong answers here. In the end I went with streaming video, which is already a big aspect of our online presence, but my understanding is that it is always expanding. That more and more people begin to stream more video, or even just start streaming video. I could see both VR and AR being a big aspect of that success as well.

Re: Nice!
Same here. Video's been big since it first came out. Streaming has really taken off in recent years because technology as a whole has gotten so good at handling it. By the looks of it, video steaming would have been big in 90s if the technology existed.

Streaming video is aiming for where the puck *was*...
I think streaming video is already mainstream, and it'll take up quite a bit of bandwidth.. but it's not going to make 5G anything special. LTE/4G is already trying to handle streaming video....

Chicken or Edge?
This is kind of a chicken-or-egg question for me here. I at first wanted to say streaming video, but I ultimately went with mobile edge computing because streaming is already igniting MEC demand/innovation -- which, in turn, will lead to greater 5G demand/innovation. So I went with MEC as the more direct "point of ignition".

Re: Chicken or Edge?
While on the prowl, did take some "thinking" to see what made sense--for me it was "IOT" as I view it as "all encompassing" which will, among other things, incorporate many of the things underscored....Interesting @JOE you charactericized it as a "chicken or Egg' :)

Re: Nice!
@afwriter: Shucks! I somehow missed IoT on this list among everything else.

Oh, well. Maybe I'm engaging in some post hoc rationalization, but I stand by my mobile-edge choice. After all, IoT is leading to mobile-edge innovation/demand too. It's all going to flow through the mobile edge, I suspect.

Re: Nice!
@elizabethv: Streaming VR would be kind of hard to do, but it sounds like Viacom 18 in India has been innovating here for EDM festivals. (link to my coverage for Telco Transformation)

Streaming AR, of course, would be a relative breeze. What if you're not just looking for Pokemon, but watching and waiting to see what they do?

Re: Streaming video is aiming for where the puck *was*...
@mhh: I just conducted an interview (Stay tuned!) where the executive I spoke with shared similar sentiments to yours. 5G allows more features and greater scalability, but right now the focus seems to be more on mobile in general -- regardless of the number preceding the "G".
