Re: Quite a jump
@JohnBarnes thank you, sometimes for me is not easy to figure it out why I see things this way or why I think about it this way :) the more I think about your explanation the more I think you are righ as when I stop and try to think why I see think/this way :)

Re: Quite a jump
batye,

Maybe because the whole innovation market in computation has always been characterized by tipping points followed by runaways? New tech looks like a solution in search of a problem for a long time, while progress is slow, incremental, and less than it was hyped to be ... and then somewhere toward the end of that long time, the solution finds its problem, the tech begins to work well and reliably, and the former fringey tool or interesting possibility sucks up the new growth and displaces most of what came before it.  Parallel computing went through that transition a generation ago (and the word parallel, in this case used literally, probably brought it to your mind).

Quite a jump
Of course the installed base is huge, so at first that expansion from a very thin blue line to a fairly thick blue line between CY17 and CY21 may not look like much.  But if you let your eye draw parallels to the $60B  line you can see at once that the blue (NFV/SDN) zone is half of all new growth.

And in an industry that still has a long way to grow, half of all new growth (so far) means complete dominance in a generation.

Re: OCP Servers Surge
@dcawrey yes, but it depends with whom you are talking... as some Co/people still resist the changes... but I think at end we gonna see more and more OCP...

Re: OCP Servers Surge
Everyone now wants OCP, and I am not surprised one bit. The Silicon Valley tech giants really trailblazed here, and I think they are much further ahead than the telcos.

OCP Servers Surge
We use servers as a way to communicate through computers etc. I think is is interesting and great for OCP but it only gets better with time with knowledge and will power.
