I've never used Snapchat either. I also have never used Instagram but have reach articles about how it is helpful for business owners. Maybe Snapchat will get bought by another company and it will get saved from the fate of Vine.

Re: SnapChat
@afwriter, I agree. Snapchat will have to develop other products and services to remain competitive because the interests of millennials can quickly change, they are not always loyal to products. Hopefully SNAP will stick around.

Re: SnapChat
@Ariella, @elizabethtv, I just read an article about the founder and the CEO of SNAP who are both billionaires under 30. Although the company is profitable they will have to change their business model or expand into other markets whch it seems they are doing with NBC.

Re: SnapChat
@Elizabeth I feel like we are in the same demographic areas in almost every way I am with you in never using Snapchat. I know how it works, but I have never liked the idea and I will continue to argue that it is a useless app bolstered by cheap marketing to high school kids. It may not be today, it may not be tomorrow, but someday Snap will go the way of Vine.

Re: SnapChat
@elizabethv I didn't mean you had to change your answer, just that it's an intersting development in terms of Snap staking out its territory with a focus on content for a particular age group.

Re: SnapChat
@Ariella - That's a great idea. Though it really doesn't change my answer. Lol. It sounds a bit like that skit thing that Neil Patrick Harris did, Dr. Horrible. And while it was mildly popular, it certainly wasn't life changing in any way. I applaud their attempt at changing things up, but I'll hold off on being positive about it until I've received further information.

Re: SnapChat
@elizabethv It was just in the news. NBCUniversal and Snap announced Tuesday they are deepening their existing relationship to form a studio to create original content for Snapchat,  "The as-yet-unnamed studio has a deal with production company Donut Studios to create scripted short-form shows targeting 18- to 24-year-olds—giving advertisers an opportunity to reach a generation that is switching away from traditional media, while still positioning themselves aside TV-like content. SnapChat
To my knowledge, SnapChat is largely popular among teens and young-twenty-somethings. I've personally never used it and had no idea what the premise behind it even was until about a year ago. And while I think it's a cute idea, I also think that the fact that everything is deleted forever, almost hurts any kind of long-term, mass embracing of the service. Not to say it couldn't be around long term, but in my opinion, the audience will be far more cyclical than say Facebook.
