Re: AT&T Wireless 5G
The US won't get 5G before Asia.. but maybe we'll get some "narrowspread" trials in selected cities before parts of Europe?

Re: AT&T Wireless 5G
@Mike I do wonder if anyone will compare the actual events to the predicted ones and find that we actually progressed beyond what was projected back in 2015, 2016.

Ariella, There has been pressure for 3GPP to move faster on the standards, so I think that timeline has been moved up.

Re: AT&T Wireless 5G
@Mike Is that ahead of anticipated times? A few years ago 2020 was the year everyone pegged for major advances.

Good story today by Iain Morris on what DT is doing with 5G.  He mentions that "operators to launch standards-based 5G services as early as 2019."

I'm curious to see if 5G will be delivered as promised. It'll be nice if we see real improvements and fast!

Re: AT&T Wireless 5G
@mhhf1ve I wouldn't bet on USA for this. Asia's tightly packed cities might be more well suited for deployment.

Was just reading Tokyo will have full deployment of 5G for the Olympics in 2020. Can a US city top that?
