Re: Tough
@dcawrey:

And the worst part is the middle agencies that try to market those positions. Many times they have  no clue about the list of skills listed and how how related they are. They are just there to scuritize profiles that if a skill listed is missing, just pass on that profile. In some cases that skill may not have much to do in the job. So what i see is it is the combination of companies and marketing agencies that is making this whole job / hiring process totally difficult.

Re: Tough
I think companies often put a ton of requirements into a job position just to attract attention. Many candidates could never achieve to the level of the job they are filling in terms of skills and experience. It's a balancing act.

Re: Tough
These days industry is expecting all stars - not just one, two or three skill sets. It's combination of multiple skills, experience, certifications etc. Companies are looking for specifics whe it comes to skills and experience. So it has become tough for companies as well as talented folks.

SDN does not need a village
I think with SDN/Software Define Networks that it takes just a few strong people to make it more successful like creating or inventing new things for us.

Tough
Talent is tough. You need generalists. You need specialists. You have to keep everyone happy. It can be really difficult but also very rewarding. Tech is the business of people if you ask me, despite what others might say.
