SDN can be used to manage traffic flow which is greatly needed due to the continual increase of demand for content and speed. Virtual CPUs increase throughput which helps performance, workloads, speed, and more.

I said Applications and services, such as SD-WAN, at the network edge. I think SDN will be used more to create new applications and services for enterprises.

@Joe - Nope, or at least not in my opinion. I voted for the same thing. It makes the most sense to me. And in some ways encompasses the other options, at least to some extent.

@mhh: I tend to agree with you. You don't necessarly need SDN to have other virtualized functions/applications/etc. going on.
#5 leads to #2, no?
I almost selected the "Applications and services" option...but really, when you think about it, those SDN-enabled applications/services/appliances are really there to serve the management of internal traffic flow, fundamentally. So I voted the second option, accordingly.
Fellow community members: Do you think I'm missing something here?

I think vCPU services are probably in the distant distant future... and governed by other tech besides SDN. OR maybe I'm wrong?
