Re: Edge computing on deck
Great points. One has to wonder whether the emergence of VR will be the actually hardware. Or if its all going to be about getting edge computing out to the masses so the network can do a lot of the heavy lifting.

@freehe, I fully agree with your assessment.  They are becoming a leading innovator.

Their applications and learning of how to best apply edge computing will continue to keep them as an industry leader and enable them to deliver superior service options.

Re: 5G Edge Computing
Security should always be a top priority when it comes to computing and the cloud. Hopefully, it is something that is already being addressed here.

Re: Edge computing on deck
@clrmoney, I still can't believe how much AT&T has grown as a company. A phone company that is now one of the top telco and technology companies. They have truly become a leader in the technology industry. I can't wait to see what else AT&T has in the future.

5G Edge Computing
@afwriter. I am also curious about the security measures if any that exist for 5G and edge computing. This should be at the top of list for the strategic/implementation plan. In many instances only basic security measures are put in place until a data breach occurs.

Edge Computing
I agree, this was a good article. I don't know anything about edge computing but it sounds exciting. I wonder what other companies are considering using edge computing since it reduces bandwidth needed and can be use with IoT and AI.

Re: Interesting Stuff
This isn't a direct answer your question, and I'm not sure what the answer is, but we've been having an internal debate on LR about fog vs. edge computing. Here's a story Iain Morris wrote.

Interesting Stuff
@Mike great article full of some interesting ideas. I can't say that I know too much about edge computing but it looks interesting. My only question is, Is this putting too much reliability on 5G? Couldn't something go terribly wrong if the cloud were to be compromised in some way?

Edge computing on deck
With AT&T being with augmented and virtual reality is something great and interesting because what they have to offer to make things easier will make AT&T more valuable.
