Re: SD-Wan
Security is just the kicker that we keep coming back to. I don't think it would be as hot-button of an issue if anyone felt as though everything that could be done was being done when it comes to security. That being said, we are a lot better off now than we have been in the past. There may be a situation here where companies need to take advantage of the ease and cost savings of SD-WAN and cross their fingers that security catches up.

Different SD-WAN Solutions
It is very wise that they are going with three different SD-WAN solutions - Cisco, iPlanema and Riverbed's steelconnect. The three solutions are designed different structurally and that gives multiple options for customers to go with the closest fit. Also the three individually may have existing customer base that would retain their SD-WAN and opt for cloud now. That is an excellent way to expand customer base.

Re: SD-WAN Complements Cloud
@clmoney:

Agree with you. The combination of SD-WAN and Cloud would be very functional. All other aspects like encryption, security have to be tightly integrated to make this combination really productive in the market.

Re: SD-Wan
@dcawrey:

I totally understand the concern around security. That is pretty obvious to think whenever we are dealing with cloud.

Mr.Isch already brought that up as a common concern that is heard from customers. And he responded by indicating several measures that they plan to follow.

" There's cloud-based security infrastructure that we can deploy. There are site-based firewalls. There are virtual firewalls. There's a lot of different ways that we can help customers through that. "

I know this wouldn't make it not vulnerable at all. But we got to have a plan and follow that and be vigilent.

Re: SD-Wan
Totally agree with the hardware part. Software is going to make networks a lot easier to use.

That being said, I'm still concerned about security issues. Because a network made of software is going to be vulnerable - there's no way around it.

SD-Wan
I am pretty sure they are gong to be able to work together.  The network service technology is gong to be great.  Using the cloud technology would be greater than before.  It sounds to me tht they will be all working together like a family.  I guess we will have to see.

SD-WAN Complements Cloud
I think they can work together with SD-WAN that has network technology and the Cloud having the cloud technology so with them together they will be bigger and better.
