@dcawrey. That is so true. You don't want to jump in a market that you have no experience in and then fail. This requires R&D and a sound strategic and implementation plan. It also requires senior executives that have proven experience implementing the latest technologies with great success.

@afwriter. I agree. I don't know what the reasons could be for not having a strategy. This makes no sense. A strategy is the most basic thing that a company should have. Once implemented you need to constantly monitor and update your strategy.

I feel bad for the 14% that have no strategy. That is not a good place to be in an age where technology moves so quick.

This certainly isn't a "build it and they will come" situtation. With the amount of money and time that must be poured into this, it's better to be careful and pay close attention to what stakeholders really need out of a deployment like this.

The majority of the service providers' deployments are in the POC phase, which shows SDN/NFV is moving forward.

Both SDN and NFV has a lot to offer with Information Technology and networks. So of course there will be increase of valuable things for them and us.
