There actually is a company that produces holograms for healing in the sense of guidance for suergy. It's called Realview. I wrote about it a few years ago.
..and before that, ther eis a fundmeental challenge of access--I was thinking about that as I saw this during my PM review which I look foward 2 the TT Community commenting on:
@mpouraryan I could not agree more, for me it very interesting to see the way technology grows and develops :) as it gives me hope for better future...
What I trust you agree with, @Bayte, is this fundamental fact I have underscored: we have to ensure that a sense of humanity is maintained as we are witness to the transformation at hand.

Re: MR Holograms
To your point @bayte, the Facebook commitment to hire 3K monitors to moderate content in light of the very tragic events of the past month is a testament to it. I am confident that as we deliberate the evolution here and beyond, we would ensure that it is sustained.
There is no question @bayte that the movement ahead is going to be extraordinary--Our challenge is to make sure that we remain true to the sense of humanity I have repeatedly underscored throughout my deliberations.
Grateful for your thoughts @Bayte--I can't help but wonder about the true practicality of it all as we see the evolution--Wonder if you are aware of any startups up there in Canada that are leaders right now and at the forefront of transformation with your knowledge of th market?
@mpouraryan I keep hearing on the news about few startups in Canada... but most of the time it just lots of hype... I would say until I see it physicaly and touch it....
@mpouraryan I keep hearing Canada Mint gonna impliment/create something simular like a bitcoin but the digital mint currency would be backed up by Can. gov... but I do not see much get developed... while on the news it was a big hype... Eh... :)
Since you brought up "BITCOIN', there is an alternative being developed that may give "BITCOIN" a run for its' money--it is part of the "digitization" process we're witness to:
Hopefully, when your schedue permits, you are able to expand on this thought--as I am quite curious especially in this quest to truly simplify while being innovative.

Re: MR Holograms
I hope to see the evolution of it which will give us who need to be two places at the same time some 'Flexibility" going forward. I have a sneaking suspicion that we would see that in our lifetime!!
Wishing all throughout the fab TT Community a fab Cinco De Mayo W-End :)
I've also only seen video, but from the video I have seen they look somewhat real. Didn't a news agency do a hologram for an event (maybe new years ever?) circa 2009?
It's actually crazy to sit back and think that holograms could easily be used more in our future. Technology had come so far when you think about where it all started..
.... but it seems to me that buyer resistance is a form of stress and negative feelings, and a more likely application is going to be "helping" us all to feel less stressed, more content and happy, while we watch advertisements.
(The thing that may save us from that is that many advertisements get their effect by increasing stress, so perhaps it will turn out to be, not an enhancer, but a defender against, advertising).
We have to be better than that--by resisting and being aware and not be taken "in" by the latest. It seems as if the people seem to get that as underscored by the latest out of Apple and not, per se, be blown away by Echo Look /etc. that Amazon is cooking up :) :)
@bayte: Since you asked, I am seeing reports of Amazon Echo Look (gearing towards home automation)..and just this past week got an offer from Ecobee for an Alexa-Powered smart theromast that can also play music....
Interesting times!!
Wishin' all a great weekend and a fab week ahead!!
@mpouraryan - Oh brother - a thermostat that can play music! Let's not tell my husband about that one. We'd have it in a matter of weeks and my 4 year old would never stop listening to "Geronimo." *eye roll*
It is critical for us to be looking to the future--and there is no question that the future is now--right? ..and it is fascinating to be witness to ti all....
Mike Pouraryan,
But will we actually be thinking more rationally and not being taken in, or just feeling better about our rationality thanks to working through that mixed reality interface?
"There have been a lot of case studies that VR is just as effective as a dose of hydromorphone, which is a powerful pain killer. If we can put a media experience on someone's face when they're going through a blood draw, when they are going through chemotherapy, dialysis, or some kind of acute stress situation, and we can lower their gamma activity in the brain, that might really reduce reliance on medication -- that might be an alternative to medication -- to treat baseline symptoms of what people are going through with anxiety."
It is admirable that StoryUp wants to use VR to help reduce pain for patients but they have a huge giant to deal with - the phamaceutical company is not interested in patients being in less pain and using less medication. They want patients to spend even more money on medicine and healthcare.
