Re: Polls: Where is the Enterprise Cloud?
How do you feel? In your opinion, the enterprise cloud...

I believe the cloud ...offers great advantages, but still requires significant sacrifices in comparison to traditional approaches.

I don't believe there is any technology that matches the legacy infrastructure which is why so many companies still have legacy systems.

The cloud has arrived but there is definitely room for improvements in the areas of cloud security, standards, data security, financial industry, providing different cloud options for different organizations, digital transformation, etc.

Re: Trend
@dlr:

In addition we may also learn if there is any hidden opportunity without reinventing the wheel. That would benefit in two aspects

- cost impact by leveraging some of the existing technology, infrastructure etc.

- time impact as you will be bale to deliver fast as you are not starting from scratch.

Re: Vendors
Definitely key factors and questions to ask yourself when you're talking about the Cloud. It's important to keep improving the Cloud, after you thoroughly understand the basics of it first.

Re: Trend
Good points! Obviously interest to keep moving forward and growing is always there when it comes to technology, but you're right. We have to learn to manage the technology we have no first. It'll make things easier as we move along.

Re: Vendors
@ms.akkineni Dropbox and Box need to get their act together. The only reason why they've been able to do well is because of shadow IT. That's not going to be enough for them to be an enterprise player. They are going to need to do a lot more than that.
