Re: Centurylink CORD
Yeah and I can understand why. It's just so different compared to how I was growing up. Videos are really developing and becoming more and more popular every day!

@dlr5288 yes, some peple prefer to communicate that way. The same teens who disdained to use the regular phone feature on their smartphones in favor of texting now also communicat in live video chats on their phones.

Re: Centurylink CORD
I think it's a smart move and I know how addicting watching videos can get! It was just surprising the other day I went on and instead of status, picture updates it was full of videos!

Re: Centurylink CORD
@dlr5288 yes, the push for video was deliberate, as analytics on users shows people click on and spend more time on videos than on other forms of media. FB also was sure to set things up to prioritize videos made on and for its platform over links to YouTube and the like.

Re: Centurylink CORD
I definitely think a Facebook messed up a bit with trying to move too fast..also a little off topic, but I've been realizing more and more how Facebook is turning into one big video feed.

As we're on the subject on Fads, One of the Fads was SECOND Life--it is still around--but a very niche product. A successor to it, though, is emerging ever so stronger with what Facebook has committed to despite the missteps over Occulus.

Re: Centurylink CORD
Definitely! I think it's easy for everyone to follow a fad because it's popular at one time or another. However, it's important to stay at the best point for the company/business.

Re: Centurylink CORD
What is critical is for them not to be "taken in" by the latest "fad". BI Intelligence, for instance, is reporting about the disaster Facebook is dealing with in the aftermath of Oculus acquisition.
CenturyLink Goes Its Own Way With CORD
I'm actually not to suprised to be seeing that centuryLink is going on its own because its very good to partner up with someone in the beganing of the franchise. Once you get to the point where your numbers are going up without the partner help somewhat then its time to step out on your own. So i wasnt suprie to see this its pretty commom but i thin it will be good for CenturyLink to be on its own and wor the franchise on up on its own.

Definitely! It's nice to see that companies that are already successful still add on new and, as you said, vibrant add ons to technologies.
