Interesting reversal ...
"Classically" whichin this industry means "in the last 3 years", most businesses that try DevOps have gone the path advocated by many DevOps gurus -- giving users a set of tools to save tricks and procedures as they create them, then gradually converting one-offs to well-known hacks to standard hacks to apps. Once that's been done a few times you tell the users they've been doing DevOps all along, and offer support and training to do it better. The process has usually been incremental, bottom up, and stealthy. This is top down and overt.  It will beinteresting to see if the results are the same, better, worse, or just different.

Re: Orange Devops
Daniel, Orange hosted a dinner during MWC and for a while I set next to Mari-Noëlle Jégo-Laveissière who is in charge of innovation at Orange. She said that Orange is taking a lot the lessons it has learned internally out to businesses in each of the 29 countries where it has a footprint. There are some varibles, but it sounds like a good plan.

Re: Orange Devops
Interesting read. I would expect to see more flat organizations in the future.

It's very difficult this day and age to run a top-down structure with lots of middle management. I think a lot of leading technology companies have kind of come to that conclusion for sure.

Orange Devops
They say Devops has changed some things for their services and organizations like Orange Digital Factor which is an online portal for millions of users etc. I think they should have available things to make it better for us and them.
