AT&T: IoT Cyber Attacks Increase 400% in 2016
This is very interesting and useful in todays world. I cannot believe that Cyber attacks has increase that much in 2016. I am hoping it decreases my 2018 atleast because ATT LoT will not be able to exlactly handle it the right way. It just shows technology can be to hard to handle.

Re: Spam
@freehee Ouch! Connecting is expensive these days. I can only assume all the badware traffic is contributing to the overall cost. Defeating bad stuff and preventing attack can be costly.

Re: Spam
@srufolo I can see how your plan might cost so much. Everything does cost so much!! We have few options for internet where I live and all are pricy. If it's cheap, the connection is not so great.

Costs
Every six months I call my cell phone carrier and cable provider to ask about discounts and specials. Most companies don't advertise the good deals and customers have to call to ask for them. If they tell me no, I remind them that I am a loyal customer, quote competitor prices. If they still tell me no I ask for the cancellation department and ask them what are you going to do to keep me as a satisfied customer.

I say no at least 3 times until I get a deal that is acceptable.

Re: Spam
@Michelle, that is crazy. I pay about $50 more for cable service that for cell phone service.

As soon as my new roof is installed I am switching to satellite TV.

Re: Spam
@elizabethv, oh wow. Verizon is the most expensive carrier. I thought about switching to Verizon but decided against it. I am glad I did. I think AT&T is second to Verizon so I am fine with the second top carrier.

Re: 75%!
@elizabethv, good questions. I wonder the same thing. The percentage is much lower for free email accounts such as gmail, outlook/live and yahoo.

Re: Spam
@dcawrey, I agree. I am glad that companies spend that much money to combat spam. No one would ever be able to perform their job or communicate with others via emai and everything would slow down to a crawl due to jammed servers filled with spam.

@srufolo1, they are waiting for a cyber attack. Security is not a high priority for most companies and most are reactive instead of proactive which costs ten times more to fix than being proactive and implementing effective security measures.

Cyber attacks spam
In some instances spam phishing emails result in a cyber attack due to users not reading the entire email to identify red flags that indicate it is a phishing email, lack of common sense, not verifying the sender of the email or verifying URLs that appear in the email or assuming that all emails received are valid.
