Orange has New Public Cloud for us and them
This is great that Orange is offering this Cloud service which is something new like them being able to be across multiple locations so that people can reach them with their advanced technology.

Re: Orange has New Public Cloud for us and them
@clrmoney - I think offering the services to larger businesses is a great idea. Realistically, it makes them a middle man offering a product with limited overhead. I can see this being really successful for them. Especially given that their target business is a multi-national corporation, which means the businesses themselves will bring their own large chunk of business.

Orange Debuts Public Cloud Offering
It's extremely wise of Orange to partner with Huawei, leveraging Huawei's OpenStack, to roll out this public cloud service and extend its reach to multinational corporations, and adding to its private cloud portfolio.

It also seems to be a full service package - including everything from implementation to auditing, making it an easier transitions for companies to choose.

Re: Orange Debuts Public Cloud Offering
@faryl - That's a really good point. A lot of companies would rather be sure they can utilize a service like this, with as little involvement from their end as possible. A complete package allows companies to do just that. If you're already paying someone to help with your virtual storage needs, you might as well know that they are going to take care of the entire process, from beginning to end.

Also a strong gain for Orange in experience base
Right now, while there's not nearly the big rush to convert legacy systems that there probably will be later, is the time to launch an initiative like this. Within a few years Orange will have a large number of people (and data collections) that record what sort of legacy systems are out there and probably some common patterns in them, and right now the sample is still highly representative. Latecomers won't have time to learn and will also be learning from a less and less representative sample.

Orange Debuts Public Cloud Offering
Orange, no doubt, will add to its bottom line with this service as enterprises are eager to tap into the public cloud, and they will get the extra benefit of Huawei's OpenStack.

Re: Also a strong gain for Orange in experience base
@JohnBarnes - You're right, Orange is really getting ahead of the curve on this one and making themselves a leader. This can do nothing but help them not only gain strength and momentum now, but power down the line when others fall in line to follow suit. They will be the company others look towards to emulate.

ElizabethV,
Market intelligence, like fresh produce, should be harvested and used ASAP, while it is still fresh and diverse. It has a similar shelf life.
