Re: Interesting moves..
@dcawrey, whoever gets that package right will capture the markets.  It is a matter of scalability and sustainable economies of scale.  I am with you - someone will put the right package together.  They will get my subscription!

Re: Interesting moves..
@DHagar Many of the US OTT services offered packages.

I think what would be really great is if at some point we could be able to customize packages based on channels we watch. It's kind of silly to pay for channels never watched. This is going to happen, it will just take time.

Re: Interesting moves..
@dcawrey, which definitely makes sense.  It also appears to be a "better" version of our packaging options.  Maybe it will be offered, with our US tastes, here?

Re: Interesting moves..
@DHagar My understading is that many in Europe are simply not used to paying for television. If these services can get over that hump then they will probably do well by changing the way consumers think there. I think the idea would be paying for content you can watch whenever you want to.

Re: Interesting moves..
@Adi, that is a key point to factor in - as well as the Brexit AND the Trump-initiated currency exchange relationships relative to the US dollar.

Re: Interesting moves..
@mhhf1ve, yes, I would be certain as well that they have figured out the pricing.  What I would expect they have done is competitively "bundle" with these new options and models offered through the EU.

Re: roaming
This is an interesting arrangement.

I think the last time I went to Canada there was a streaming service I could not access. I can't recall which one, but it was a bummer.

Good call for Europe to fix that.

Re: Interesting moves..
Oh right... the pound isn't what it used to be these days. Will Europeans be trying to get a U.K. Netflix subscription then? I doubt it's worth the trouble since a good vpn might negate any cost savings.

Re: Interesting moves..
mhhhf1ve - with the falling pound, it might be cheaper! It starts at GBP 5.99 in the UK and I believe it's Euro 8.99 in the Eurozone. But I think its the same across the Eurozone, so no advantage for consumers to cross-borders within the continent, at least for their Netflix subscription.

Re: Interesting moves..
Is Netflix cheaper outside of the U.K.? I'd think Netflix has figured out pricing in nearby countries so that there wouldn't be arbitrage opportunities for viewers...
