Vodafone Says Hola to NB-IoT in Spain
This article is interesting and well explained about the Hola to ND-IoT. I think it will be great in spain because of the service and population is growing lie technology. I really thin the technology in spain will be better in a couple year and the NB-IoT wil be even greater than the past but the project to the path will be a challenge in the future but i can see it growing and being very popular.

Completely agree.

I'm surprised that they were able to do it so quickly, but it'll definitley be a good change for Spain.

Sign of things to come?
Curious if the blog contained any insight into the selection process for NB-IoT. Obviously the advantages listed are significant, and the deployment timeframe is remarkable. But were there trade-offs when compared with LoRa and SigFox, i.e., do they provide something NB-IoT doesn't?

No doubt this will transform the way these major Spanish cities do business. Sounds like a great development in Spain, and accomplished relatively quickly.

Re: NB-IOT is here in Spain
Amazing how quickly this was able to get up and running.

This is clearly leveraging existing technology that was already installed - there's no way it could have been done so fast otherwise. Nevertheless, an interesting deployment case.

Vodafone Says Hola
"...there will be over 1,000 mobile sites supporting NB-IoT in the Spanish cities with each site capable of connecting more than 100,000 devices. Vodafone's NB-IoT services in Spain were launched on its existing 800MHz spectrum."

"To launch NB-IoT we just needed to update the software in existing base stations," Tenorio wrote in his blog. "In Valencia that took just a few hours, which was really fast when you consider that it can take up to a year to add a new 3G or 4G mobile site to a mobile network."

If this is true this is amazing work to bring up base stations so quickly and bring added services to Spain.

NB IoT in Spain
"NB-IoT offers a long-range mobile connection with low power consumption that makes it ideal for devices such as utility meters, parking meters and smoke alarms."

IoT will provide many benefits to residents to help detect leaks, and malfunctions in devices and appliances.

NB-IOT in Spain
It is great that NB-IoT can tap into existing 4G equipment which will help them save money and time in R&D.

I am glad to hear that it will provide added security which is greatly needed in IoT.

Ariella did a good job of writing up this launch in previous stories for TT. Check out the links at the end for more details.
