Re: Consumer Technology 2017 Revenue from devices and gadgets
@Adi, I agree. I was surprised about not seeing laptops as well. I have a desktop and laptops and I know many others who have a laptop, notebook and iPad.

I am also curious to see statistics on other portable devices - iPad, mp3 players, tablets, notebooks, etc.

Drones
I would like to see a breakdown on the units shipped for drones. Are the units purchased by individuals, companies, the military etc.

How many units are purchased per group?

Second and Third Rankings
Fitness and activity trackers and smart homes are the second and third highest products shipped. I am surprised at the fitness trackers numbers, it seems like it is a small moving market.

I am also surprised about smart homes, I wasn't aware that many people were interested in smart homes. I guess this is good for companies that manufacture these products.

Consumer Tech Industries
I am curious why the infographic did not show the exact number of units for new car technology but did for all the others areas.

Re: My household
@Ariella, I think that is widely popular.  I am noticing the high increased use as well of personal assistants - that may be the next big wave!

Re: My household
@afrwriter There were some smartphone purchases in my household, but really nothing else on that infographic. There were also a couple of laptop purchases and a new wireless router, but that doesn't seem to be represented there.

My household
My household purchased 3/4 of these devices last year. Anyone else contribute to the 292.5 Billion?

Re: US Consumer Tech
I would think it's VR headsets. The CTA tracks device shipments, not applications. So it's going to have to be device revenue.

Re: US Consumer Tech
@vnewman  That's a good question. On a hunch, I would imagine it would include VR for TV or like you said, gaming. The chart doesn't actually specify.

Re: US Consumer Tech
I'm curious to know what forms of VR specifically?  Is it mostly gaming for instance?  Telepresence?  Does anyone know or want to venture a guess?
