@mhhf1ve that's in place of reading books under the covers? I guess you save on having to have a flashlight on then. It's a different experience watching a movie in that way than watching on a screen with others if only because of the lack of the shared experience with someone present. I suppose today it may be possible to coordinate with a friend, though, so that you are both watching the same thing simultaneously even if you are miles or even continents apart.

I understand some people want to watch "Big movies" on a big screen, but small screens aren't "just" for snippet videos. If you've ever read a book in bed.. try just watching a good movie under covers. :P 

Or maybe I just need to buy more large screen TVs in my house?

@dcawrey but teens do (according to one in my home) as do some in that all-so-sought-after Millenial category.

@Ariella I can understand why Snapchat has done so well - the format of mobile video is perfect for them. 

However, I'm not going to sit around viewing mobile video in my home. That's just not going to happen.

@dcawrey Personally, I don't like watching videos on phone screens. I'd think most people woudl enjoy the view on a bigger screen, though they might watch short ones on their for news clips and the like or even longer programs if they found themselves stuck on a line or something with nothing else to do.

I agree there's a ton of content that's not really well digested on phones. Yes, people will always want to view snippet videos on mobile devices. But there is depper content that will require different devices than that.

Fascinating
I think it is absolutely facinating in a digital era that, "We will have BET customers who will never watch us on TV." It makes sense to focus on the platforms that are making you money and not stretch yourself too thin, but it has to be hard when a TV channel is admitting that people are not watching its content on TV.

Content is everywhere
Content is e everywhere like online TV phones etc. So if there is a problem with it they need to come up with a solution to make it better for them and the customers.

I've got to disagree with the sentiment that certain content is not meant for certain size screens. I've watched Man in the High Castle on my phone (ok, horizontally not vertically), and I know plenty of mobile first consumers of content who binge watch on the go. It's up to the viewer how to consume content, not the producer or the provider.

It's interesting to see all the different industries the panel speakers represented at the Consumer Electronics Show. I agree with "Shingy" about the emergence of "fake news." I think in the media world, it's important that the audience receives the truth. Why feed them lies? On another note, I really think the job of "digital prophet" sounds interesting, even though a definition for it has not really been pinned down.
