Re: Digital world
I noticed that line as well. I'm not sure if she meant that DT is not a software company so it should find partners that were experts in that area?

Re: Digital world
> "Software development is not a core competence for Deutsche Telekom"... I would think DT should try to change that because software is going to be incredibly important-- and it already is. Having strong software partnerships is good, but also being able to develop software projects in house is a competitive advantage as well.

Re: always a problem..
Whoa. 8GB of RAM for a smartphone?!? I think a lot of laptops have less than that. Some not so old MacBooks have that much soldiered in permanently?

always a problem..
> "not always an easy thing for a huge oil tanker like us to maintain our strengths, and at the same time, to start new things from scratch.."

It's still amazing to see how many startups are able to become "huge oil tankers" nowadays. I'm wondering if this situation can last and if the established tech companies will begin an era of multi-decade rule? Microsoft and Apple seem to be still healthy and building up resources to last for the next 100 years, but can IBM and GE still stick around? Can Facebook avoid becoming like Yahoo?
