Tata technology
I like how Tata has add on more services which means more options for the cusomers who uses it and the company . They said it provides transport distribution and contribution so that's a plus too.

What does it mean for data usage?
Does this mean, in theory, that videos would take less data to stream?

Not necessarily. Streaming video could be adjusted to the display device's capabilities. So if it was streaming to a phone, the stream would be less than if it were delivering video to a 40-inch 4K TV in a living room.

Re: Tata technology
The cloud infrastructure for OTT is becoming more popular. Netflix was ostensibly the first to ditch its own datacenter and use AWS to host and distribute its vidoes. The flexibility of expanding to more locations and not dealing with the maintenance issues is key for smaller OTT video providers.

Different end video product for every customer?
> "Commentary, graphics, etc. are then added, and the final product was then broadcast.."

I'm wondering when pre-roll ads (or mid-roll ads) will become a thing of the past -- and ads will be dynamically injected into the scenes of streaming video (per user!). So billboards in movies or live sport streams can be adjusted to the viewer's profile and marketing targeting.

Product placement is going to become more subtle.. and intrusive?

Re: Different end video product for every customer?
It's amazing to me how much people really don't understand about what it takes to deliver video. However, anyone who tried to use video on the internet back in the 90s might have an idea. It was pretty terrible, mainly because companies like Tata didn't have things like undersea cable and other infrastructure to make it great.

Re: Different end video product for every customer?
Back in the 90s, you could barely get streaming audio, so streaming video was almost unheard of. Mostly people downloaded highly compressed short clips -- (what ever happened to QuickTime?). I remember the "viral" video that started South Park....
