@jbtombes, I agree, good point about CSPs implementing open source.

"It's the coming thing but it will never come here"
Funny how often this turns up in tech or biz history: everyone can see how everyone else's industry will be revolutionized by the widespread adoption and deployment of a new technology or approach, but relatively few think it will ever be possible for their own little corner of their industry. I suppose some changes are easier to imagine happening to whole forests in the distance than they are to the trees right around you.

Re: Tier 1 - IT/Network question
@jbtombes, it does sound like there is progress. I question, however, how much progress they will be willing to make if they keep the brakes on Open Source. Sounds as if they are wanting to create the future on what they control - which will not enable them to take advantage of the full opportunities in transformation and new models.

Tier 1 - IT/Network question
The IT/network domain merger looks more definitive than question 1 on Open Source. Tier 1 CSPs drive the business - and you've got almost half of the CSPs in this survey saying it's only a matter of time before the Tier 1s demand it. But that's not necessarily an Open Source verdict, is it?
