telepresence
I went to Cisco Live last year and they gave us a demo of their telepresence offerings. Very impressive, as I recall. I haven't followed this in a while, but I wonder how much $ these different solutions generate for Cisco?

Re: telepresence
Cisco's certainly been in the business a while now.

I remember some old 24 episodes in which Cisco telepresence is heavily plugged, where the White House is using Cisco technology to teleconference with the Joint Chiefs or something.

Re: Video Usage
There is certainly a generational shift going on.

People are getting more used to utilizing video in the workplace. I think that is a change from years gone by. It's going to change the way we can work from anywhere, that's for sure.

Re: Video Usage
@dcawrey - I completely agree! I think the more we utilize video and other online resources the more our country can make a shift to people being able to work from home or anywhere. Hopefully this will help ease the traffic congestion so many larger cities are starting to see. People won't necessarily have to live in the city to be connected to a higher paying job with a corporation. Or go to work at traditional working hours. This can and I expect will be life altering.

Re: Video Usage
@elizabethv and if comanies would only break out of the traditional mindset, they would see that the benefits of telecommuting outweight the negatives. The employees save time and money by eliminating the commute, Traffic is eased, as you mentioned, and as a result, there would be cleaner air from reduced emissions.

Re: Video Usage
@Ariella - admittedly employees working from home isn't without potential problem, as productivity might initially decrease, but as more people see the value in working from home they will put more value in the job and as such work as hard as need be to be sucessful. Or they won't and they shouldn't be able to keep the job, and the company can find someone who will. I would imagine letting employees work from home would decrease overhead too. Once everything was settled and running efficiently.

I love youtube and I use it daily. I'm dreading the day when they're going to make us pay for the app. They already came out with youtube red which makes you pay monthly..
