Re: Most people's dream
I guess I am "kind of the exception" to the rule as I am making the "Virtual Rounds" this w-end here in TT.    As someone who has a ROKU & a FireTV, the flexibility and power is mine--especially as I am seeing the proliferation of free services out there--I am fully onboard with the fact that "you get what you pay for..".   But the ability to, for instance, be able to catch SkyNews out of the UK, Bloomberg and "snippets" of MSNBC is cool...or be able to have services like Crackle is also quite cool.    The question, to Mike's Point, is how to providers like T-Mobile are able to "run with it" and take advantage of the new Normal that's already here.

Most people's dream
I think this is the dream most of us have been wanting since we all realized how much we were paying for cable and how many channels we didn't want were included in that. It felt like going to a restaurant, and ordering a meal with an outrageous price and a hoard of side plates filled with food you don't even like. I recently signed up for Sling TV and really like the ability to add on the kids package with the package I selected. Allowling for more TV choices for my kids (one of the biggest reasons I decided to try it) without paying a hefty price.

a la carte
As a subcriber to multiple OTT services and cable, a la carte is the end game. Despite the "skinny" bundles, I don't think we'll see that from traditional service providers for a very long time. I'll be interested to see how this plays out for T-Mobile.

Re: Sign Me Up
@afwriter - To be fair to them, they've just launched at the start of the summer. Perhaps we'll see some numbers in T-Mobile's earnings.

VZ's Custom TV package has done well in the states, and has a similar value proposition. Only difference, it's about five times the price.

I have been begging for something like this since before OTT was a thing.  Unfortunately, I doubt we will see this model in the US since the market is already becoming over saturated.  I did find it slightly odd that Van Lammeren wouldn't even give a ballpark number of subscribers, though.
