True! And I do think that security has otten better within th last couple years, but I still think there's so much work to be done.

Good point! I think it's preferable that a company acknowledges a lack of confidence in that it's generally those who are more knowledgeable that are aware of the extent of their shortcomings - it's the ones with less experience/knowledge that end up overestimating what they can achieve.

But not *too* confident! I feel better about a company that acknowledges it's not confident, so will work on addressing it than one that is overly confident and shifts focus away from it.

Excellent point. that is the real chnage that needs to occur.

We have been witnessing efforts to improve security within enterprise. But still there seems to be gap that needs to be worked out.

I think, John, you have identified the elephant in the room - the fear of unleashing something they don't control or even fully understand.  They are standing against a sea of change that is coming fast.

Your prediction of the value of old-style management is right on target.  Unless they can identify new value contributions, they best step-aside and let the machines do the routine things they do, only cheaper!
