No CloudCPE option in AT&T's NFoD?
Verizon's VNS (Virtual Network Services) offer 3 models for deploying virtualized services : premises-based uCPE, cloud-based virtual CPE services (available Fall 2016) and hybrid services where clients can mix premises-based and cloud-based deployment models. However, AT&T's NFoD only provide uCPE (premise-based) option only. Are there any plans to extend NFoD to Cloud CPE option too? What VNFs is Brocade providing for uCPE?

Re: AT&T's On Demand Services
Outstanding model for agile services. AT&T is definitely on the right track and has spent considerable time in building the solutions that truly solve customers' business problems.
Kudos to AT&T for setting a higher standard for services. This provides support for a wider variety of business customers and offers them soutions where they can supplement or oursource the functions they need.

@DHagar Agility seems to be the name of the game for businesses today. If they're to be agile, they need their networking services to support that with flexible and fast deployment options.

Re: AT&T's On Demand Services
@Ariella, good points. Building that capability takes a lot of investment, which is what AT&T is doing, but will serve them well in providing a platform to deliver those wider options with fast deployment.
I believe the future market leaders will be those providers who can deliver these total options, as opposed to selling a single solution package.

What I see is a customer-centric and customer-driven approach. It is enticing indeed in putting the customer in charge--am curious about the technology backbone though as they've deployed an X86 server though.

@mpouraryan, I believe that states it well.
In terms of their architecture, where they are building wider capabilities with their platform and multiple partners, I am wondering if they won't also be developing a "demand-driven" architecture capability. That would truly be distinctive!

Demand Driven would be a natural progression--and this in and of itself is going to probably cause sleepless nights in the Executive Offices of Hardware Manufacturers--won't it?

We can add many more--including Xerox and some of the ones who are no longer with us who did not see into the future--although I was shocked to see that SGI was still around as it was recently bought out--I remember how the SGI CEO at the time questioned Bill Gates' and his strategy--I wonder what he says now!!

Grateful for your kind thoughts--but I would be irresponsible in noting that this is a lesson that the great Jim Collins reminded us all as he developed the concept of Level 5 Leadership which is at the heart of it is the notion of humility--although some companies seem to forget that (without getting too political about it since it is not our mission here in TT).

AT&T's On Demand Services
AT&T is definitely a technology leader. They get it. They listen to customers, develop a plan and successfully implement it. Other companies need to do the same.
The network functions on demand service actually save companies money in time, resources, equipment and more since they only have to deploy on one container.
Customers also have flexibiilty to select the type of VNF they want to use.
Excited about the future of AT&T.
