Re: Social Video Challenge
Absolutely on the same page with you. And there is no reason to think that mess to be addressed.

Re: Social Video Challenge
Haha yes! It only really frustrates me because it's so much more time consuming when it doesn't have to be.

Re: Social Video Challenge
It's so true though! I wish there was just one simple app for everything. It would be so much easier!

Re: Social Video Challenge
LOL...

I was just asking my teenage son just yesterday why does he need six different social net working apps installed on his mobile. He answered "not my all friends use the same app and I have to be able to be approachanble to all via all the channels". Not what i like, but i had no say.

Re: Live streaming vs social media video
@Faisal - I don't have specific analysis, though happy to develop a model etc. on a custom consulting basis. Let me know if there is interest.

Also depends on definitions. For me live streaming is a subset of social video, which also includes traditional UGC videos and casual video communications. Right now, my guess is that live streaming is quite a small percentage of total network traffic. There may be an occasional spike, but I think this application is just ramping up. It's the future that I see as more of a concern.

Re: Social Video Challenge
@faryl - I think you're right. And if Facebook wants to continue to be the social media platform people use with the regularity they do today - they have to. Otherwise Facebook will go the way of MySpace. Ah, MySpace. It's bound to happen at some point, but as long as Facebook works to stay on top, and even ahead of consumer demands, they could still have a good run in them. Unless we all go screaming for the hills over being depressed about the political viewpoints opposite ours bombarding our pages......

Re: Social Video Challenge
Exactly they move from thing to thing just because it's new or easier for them to use in one way or another. I'm guilty of this myself.

Re: Social Video Challenge
The younger bunch is too quick in finding something new when they want. For them they want the thing now and that is it. It's magical to see how they get to what they want in general.

Re: Social Video Challenge
Yeah I agree!

I think networks are just trying to stay on top of what the people want and what they're using right now. If they fall behind and don't have what people are looking for they might move on to another social network that does provide video.
