Bloomberg: AT&T Is Kicking the Tires on Yahoo's Internet BusinessCount AT&T among the suitors for Yahoo after Bloomberg reported on Wednesday that the telco had submitted a bid for Yahoo's core Internet business. AT&T's interest in Yahoo Inc. (Nasdaq: YHOO) puts it at direct odds with Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE: VZ), which has been viewed as the top contender to buy Yahoo. Bloomberg reported that Verizon didn't submit one of the highest first-round bids for Yahoo. AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) could find synergy in the deal by pairing Yahoo's algorithm-based advertising with its mobile video service that was the result of last year's pickup of DirecTV Group Inc. (NYSE: DTV), according to Bloomberg. Earlier this month, AT&T severed its partnership with Yahoo by handing over a web-hosting contract to Synacor Inc. .
