Re: IoT
I agree. I feel like if a company truly understand IoT then good for them. However, a lot of companies, like you said, are just jumping on the band wagon without really knowing what goes into it. Dumb idea really.

IoT
Companies have to do much more than to just "be in IoT". IoT is a huge arena and it must be used strategically or it is just a waste of resources. This is another example of companies engaging in the latest trend but not really producing any tangible results.

Re: IOT Future
@JohnBarnes, I fully agree.  That is where the value will be realized.  The organizations that begin to tap into the data and develop it as a true asset, will really gain.

It does take the ecosystems (and connectivity) to develop this capability, but then the AI use, as you say, is where customers will get the value and the "wow" factor.

Re: IOT Future
The odd thing in some ways is that so little data is actually used. Most of the data corporations, governments, and NGOs acquire goes straight to storage, never to be touched again. So it's really the AI that will make IoT matter; it's not the gathering but the processing that counts.

IOT Future
I know IOT has big data usage because we use data almost everday day and I'm nor sure about the artificial intelligence part but going nto the future they will probably be more of it.

Working Away....
Glad to see this reaffirmed--How to harness the data is the ultimate challenge (something that I think everyone realizes).    The question of the "how" is the open question--isn't it?
