Re: Broad advance
@mhfLow prices don't mean easy entry nearly as much as they mean low profits (deterring businesses whose volume can't compensate for low profit per transaction) and instant copying (and near-instant improvement) of innovations. Huawei doesn't need a moat; moats are defensive, and in a low-entry-cost market, the strength is in the offensive.

Hmm. But isn't the "cloud" supposed to be an equalizer of sorts -- in that SMBs can compete with larger organizations with a cloud strategy as long as their DevOps teams keep up on AWS? Smaller companies can let Amazon (or whatever cloud you prefer) handle the infrastructure of the cloud -- allowing the smaller firms to innovate on features and nimble responses.

When low cost commodity hardware comes with reliable and responsive software upgrades (built with open source software), how will Huawei build a moat around its products? It's going to be about developers, developers, developers... (to quote Steve Ballmer...)

Broad advance
"relieving enterprises of their network management duties, Cloud Managed Network was designed to be more flexible than other cloud platforms. It can be used by enterprises with branch offices, in Internet of Things use cases and by small to midsized businesses."

Or in shorter summary: they're advancing in every current market/tech frontier simultaneously.  This is what you're able to do once you get big enough, and it's hard to see how the mid-sized and smaller competitors are going to be able to do anything about it.  Local and specialized resistance is futile when the tech is as fundamental as this.Looking more and more like it's going to be a Huawei world.

Enterprises no longer want the headache of network management. Huawei is definitely headed in the right direction with its cloud strategy, and adding the IoT layer is a plus.
