Re: Better better
@ariella value added services can be nice when they actually add value and aren't the product of someone's bordem. I hope they decide faster teller lines is the way to go in the future. :)

@Ariella, "how companies claim they are making improvements that often result in worse experiences for their customers. It would be good to really get something better out of change. "  Well said!  That is the true test of adding value.

Re: Better better
@Michelle,The bank does try to appeal to customers in other ways, keeping up with options for mobile deposits, for example. Also when the people in the bank don't have anything else to do, they offer extra service. Today I came in and someone who must have been bored offered to put my checks trhough without my having to wait on the line. It was nice, but it didn't save me so much time because the line was very short today. I'd rather see more people taking a place behind a teller window when the line grows very long -- rather like the retail stores that add on cashiers when they see that people are going to be growing impatient.

Re: Finkelstein's View on DOCSIS 3.1, SDN, NFV
It will be intersting to see if Cox lives up to its promise. So many companies promise better services but after the smoke clears the service aren't better and just cost  customers more money.

They need to look at startups or hire them are consultants to show how to provide customers will faster better services at a lower cost. That is what all customers want not just better services.

Re: Better better
@Ariella it's never good to have a feeling of dread towards your bank. Banks know customers rarely leave so they probably don't worry about usability issues with their sites.

Re: Better better
@Michelle It certainly seems that way! That's why when I see announcements of changes, I always think it's either going to cost me more -- as is often the case for bank announcements -- or it is going to be more of a pain to use -- as it is for many website services.

@Ariella Indeed! The best new improvements are the ones we detest most. It's as though that's the real measure of success for some of these updates. Craziness!

Re: Better better
Agreed!

From a consumer perspective, I like understanding how specific companies are deploying the different architectures, since it (somewhat) gives us a sense of the direction they're leaning in with respect to how they plan to structure their service offerings/plans moving forward.
