Seen & Heard: Huawei Unveils Video-as-a-Service Platform
This is very interesting because a sevice platform has to be made great or it wont sell or bring consumers. I allways thought the huawei service platform was good ever seen a big problem with it. The range is great and bring alot to the table when its being compared. This will be a great service platform and will be pretty hard to compete with.

Re: Traffic
All telco companies will need to offer a video-as-a-service platform to remain competitive and will have to continue to develop new products and services for video to keep up with customer demands.

@Ariella:

"Globally, consumer internet video traffic will be 80 percentof all consumer Internet traffic in 2019, up from 64 percent in 2014."

Wow, amazing forecast in trends. I am not very surprised to see the incline as the currrent trend seems pretty inline. Thanks for sharing.

Re: Traffic
@dawrey:

You are right about trending video traffic. This seems to be very common in younger generation. So this move by Huawei is very timely.

Re: Traffic
@dawrey really? I tried to find the figure for what it is actually at now. But all I could find is a Cisco projection made in 2015 that is often repeated by other articles, "Globally, consumer internet video traffic will be 80 percentof all consumer Internet traffic in 2019, up from 64 percent in 2014."

Re: Traffic
I think these next couple of years will be interesting to see how the ISPs continue to try to address the amount of video content being used. AT&T recently started imposing data limits on their U-verse product - customers will be charged more for additional gigs used, like a cell phone plan. (I've heard - anectdotely - that they throttle too.) Hopefully easier deployment means more options, which is always better for the end-users!

VaaS
Good to see this in continuation with the mini photo gallery that was shared yetserday from TV Connect Conference.

This sounds very promising to know about cloud based out of box delivery model. VaaS is also considered as reduced investment for SPs and targeted to provide a better user experience, what i could see. This is surely a winning model i can say.

Traffic
Over half of all internet traffic is video these days. Video-as-a-service is going to become a key offering for service providers. Media on the internet is increasingly video, and more interactive offerings are going to arrive soon.

This seems like a good play for Huawei as they look to continue providing services to emerging markets that will see video growth as infrastructure expands.
