Re: video
Excellent point about mobile streaming -- It makes good sense to stream some of this content on mobile. Twitter seems like an obvious choice to offer such mobile live streams. I do wonder how it might affect mobile carrier plans of the future. Will they decide to offer better data rates or just continue collecting overage fees?

Re: video
This may be a super basic question - but I'm going to go with the "there are no dumb questions" mindset and ask: When talking about "live" video content, is that generally referring to content that is streaming as it happens (such as sports events, concerts, etc.) or does it mean the content that is currently being shown on TV (e.g., Downton Abbey finale, Game of Thrones premiere - i.e., in contrast to VOD)?

Re: video
Poor Twitter .... Facebook seems to be right on Twitter's tail - offering their own version of each new functionality that Twitter offers. It's been fun to see how the content owners/creators embrace the interaction and opportunities that the immediacy of social media provides though!

Advisory Board
And it is good to know about the advisory board for Video services. This will definitely help in terms of guidance, best practices, validations etc.

Re: video
Me neither.

It's good thing to watch out for. I agree with other poster that mentioned that there is still a gap in area of live streaming. I believe there are efforts in industry to pick up the speed in that area. But at this age mobile live streaming would be the much needed thing.

Re: video
I wasnt aware of Twitter's live video plans. I agree, I think this sort of thing could be a revenue builder. Brands are willing to advertise on Twitter, why not pay for live streaming too?

CBSN is making strides...I am listening to it on my Amazon FireTV as I am at my office..I also use PLUTO that features SkyNews as part of our on-going projects for my company, the Daily Outsider--so I would argue we are there.    There are still challenges--no question.

Re: video
Speaking of live content, I think that is one area where the web is still lacking.

We're seeing progress, however. One area I think we'll see live video grow is on social networks. Twitter is going to be streaming 10 NFL games this upcoming season. I think live events and Twitter makes a lot of sense – and even more so give the financial struggles of Twitter.

Re: video
The live content will be exciting to be witness to--no question.    What I would be keen to see is what I view as the "App Evolution" that seems to be the order of the day with the likes of "Sling" et. al and see how that impacts the broad TV landscape.

Fascinating times to be witness too--no question.

:))

Re: video
That's great. Video content and technology in the industry is not that great. This will definitely help transform the industry and develop better service to customers. Exciting news!
